IntenseDebate vs. Safari
As you may (or may not) have noticed, I've upgraded this blog by adding the IntenseDebate plugin. However, it seems to have terrible problems with Webkit/Safari; I can't login to my IntenseDebate account using Safari, which kind of makes it difficult for me to comment on my own blog.
Any suggestions? I'd love to know why they don't support Safari.
Glen, I'm able to login just fine in Safari(v3.1.2). Could you let me know which version of Safari you're having problems with so I can check it out? Thanks! Austin
I'm on Safari 3.2.1 as well as the Webkit nightly build. Immediately after signing up with IntenseDebate I came back here and it wouldn't let me sign in; i.e., I'd sign in and it would immediately show that I needed to sign in again. Later in the day I came home, cleared all the caches, and it appeared to work. However, this morning I'm trying to sign in again and it won't let me; I have to manually enter my name, email, etc.
Thanks, I'll see if I can get this fixed for you, and will let you know when it is. Austin
Thanks for your rapid attention! What excellent customer service!
I'll try that once I get to a full-time Internet connection. However, accepting 3rd-party cookies is a highly serious security violation.
I know it's a bit of a pain, but if you go to http://www.intensedebate.comand login it should have you logged in when you come back here. Safari doesn't work that great with 3rd party cookies (which is what IntenseDebate is if you login from your site). If you'd rather not login from http://www.intensedebate.com, you can go to (in safari) preferences->security->'accept cookies always'. Let me know if this works for you! Austin
I think I've figured out the problem. If I am signed into this website (via the admin control panel for WordPress), then it won't allow me to sign in for Intense Debate. Previously, I had kept myself signed in. Now, if I sign out of the control panel, then voila! the Intense Debate sign-in works!
